Jumia, an electronic commerce platform, celebrated its tenth anniversary in Nigeria and announced that over the last decade, it directly employed over 1000 and over 10,000 independent sales agents, as well as over 350 third party logistics (3PL) partners.

The eCommerce platform assured of improved services and further expansion into every part of the country at the event on Wednesday in Lagos, with the theme: ’10 years together.’

Massimiliano Spalazzi, Chief Executive Officer of Jumia Nigeria, said in his opening remarks, “It is a real pleasure to be celebrating our first 10-year anniversary today; I am very proud and emotional of what we achieved all together.”

“We started from a small house in Lekki, not knowing what would happen next, but we knew exactly what we wanted to achieve, which is still the number one company today.” Our goal is to use the internet to improve people’s lives and to enable our partners, vendors, and logistics companies to do better and more business with customers.

“Thanks to our customers and employees, we are very proud of what we have built.” We have high expectations for the next ten years. We want to concentrate more on customer needs and ensure that we are meeting market demands.”
