Twitter CEO, Elon Musk has revealed that users may experience a decline in the number of their followers while efforts are made to rid the microblogging service of all phony and fraudulent accounts.
Musk, who has since taken over as Twitter’s CEO and implemented a number of big changes to the microblogging platform, warned users that their following counts would decrease in a tweet on Thursday.
“Twitter is purging a lot of spam/scam accounts right now, so you may see your follower count drop,” Musk wrote.
Recall that soon after becoming the new CEO, Musk changed the layout of the social media platform, he established the $8 per month Twitter Blue subscription package, allowing users to instantly receive the coveted blue tick following verification.
While many have registered their displeasure with the new leadership of the social media platform, Musk has continued efforts to restructure the microblogging platform.
