Created by the duo of Xavier Ighorodje and Chichi Nworah, ‘Shanty Town’ is a six-part series that follows the story of three Lagos-based hustlers who unite to wage war against the biggest and most ruthless crime ring in the state.

Shanty Town” boasts of an amazing cast list, featuring veteran actors like Chidi Mokeme, Richard Mofe-Damijo, Ini Edo, Nse Ikpe-Etim, Sola Shobowale, Shaffy Bello, Ali Nuhu and Uche Jombo. Also featuring in this star-studded show are Zubby Michael, Nancy Isime, Yaw Naija, Omowunmi Dada, Mercy Eke, Regina Daniels, Judith Audu, Peter Okoye of P-Square, and a host of others.

‘The Wait’

Movie Review: The Wait isn't worth the wait -
‘The Wait’, a Nigerian faith-based film directed by Yemi Morafa and Fiyin Gambo, based on God’s Waiting Room, a book by Yewande Zaccheaus, follows the lives of two couples, a job seeker, and a passionate doctor, intertwine in a tale of patience and redemption.

The Wait had its theatrical release in April 2021 and stars Nse Ikpe Etim, Deyemi Okanlawon, Jimmy Odukoya, Ini Dima-Okojie, Chimezie Imo, Aisha Sanni-Shittu, Kate Henshaw, Joke Silva, and others.

The film would be one of the first Nigerian films to move to Netflix, in 2023. ‘The Wait’ will begin streaming on Netflix on January 13th, 2023.

‘Disconnect 2’

Disconnect 2 coming on Netflix with Kate actress & Pascal Tokodi as lead  actors | Pulselive KenyaNetflix has confirmed that ‘Disconnect 2’, the sequel to the beloved Kenyan Romcom, will premiere on the platform in January.

The comedy is about a self-centered Otis, who falls victim to a wedding scam months after volunteering to organize a destination wedding for his Nigerian investor buddy.

‘Disconnect’ is about a group of single people who stumble through the wild dating scene of Nairobi. The film is set to premiere officially on Netflix in December 2022. An excited Catherine Kamau said she is happy to play a lead role in the movie alongside Pascal Tokodi, something she has always wished for.

The romantic comedy film first premiered in 2018, starring Brenda Wairimu, Patricia Kihoro, Nick Mutuma, Pascal Tokodi, Pierra Makena, Catherine Kamau, and Brian Ogola. In ‘Disconnect 2’, three Nigerian actors would be making appearances they are; Tope Tedela, Wale Ojo Meg otanwa.

Disconnect 2 is set to Premiere on Netflix, on January 13th

The tragic play Elesin Oba, “Death and the King’s Horseman,” written by Nobel Prize-winning author Wole Soyinka, is based on the true account of Elesin Oba, the Yoruba King’s horseman, and portrays the traditional beliefs and outlook on life and death of the Yoruba people of Nigeria.

“Elesin Oba: The King’s Horseman,” a Netflix original film directed by Biyi Bandele, is based on this Wole Soyinka play. Elesin Oba’s real-life experiences during British colonial rule in 1943 Nigeria were shown in the movie. The King’s horseman, Elesin Oba, was going to ritually kill himself so that he may carry the dead King to his ancestors in the afterlife.

The Set Up 2 is a sequel to “The Set Up”, a film released in 2019. In this Netflix wonder, Chike is still trying to get her head around her new job as an agent for an international organization when a hardened criminal (Usi) kidnaps one of the people dearest to her. She is then forced to leave everything behind and go after Usi. Little does she know that the kidnap was a “Set Up” to lure her in.

Will Chike prevail over Usi or will she regret having to forego her dream work to save the day?

The crime thriller which was directed by Naz Onuzo features Nollywood stars like Adesua Etomi Wellington, Kehinde Bankole, Nancy Isime, Tina Mba, Uzor Arukwe, Kate Henshaw, Blossom Chukwujekwu, Stan Nze, and Lota Chukwu.
