The convention commenced with the accreditation of Senators (SUG Presidents) across the institutions in Ondo State, stakeholders, national cadres, and observers.
It must be noted that 8 of 9 institutions were accredited. The institutions that were accredited are AAUA(Com. Ogunsanmi Kolade), ACE(Com. Banjo Oluwadamilare), FEDPOLEL(Com. Alalade Abiola Olutunde), CHTA(Com. Ajisola Gbenga John), OAUSTECH(Com. Ogunsoto Matthew), UNIMED(Com. Oloyede Rasheed), FUTA(Com. Jesunifemi TenTen Asoore), FECA(Com. Abdulsalam Luqman Omeiza) while RUGIPO was absent.
This was followed by the nomination of the Convention Chairman which was coordinated by the Convention Planning Committee Chairman(CPC) Comrade Adegoke Naheem(Arab).
Subsequently,Comrade Oloyede Rasheed(UNIMED SU President) nominated Comrade Olatunbosun Samuel(O’Sam) as the Convention Chairman and was seconded by Comrade Abdulsalam Luqman Omeiza(FECA SU President).
Furthermore, Jesunifemi TenTen Asoore(FUTA SU President) nominated Comrade Adisa and was seconded by Comrade Banjo Oluwadamilare (ACE SU President).
Consequently,election was conducted to decide the Convention Chairman between the duo that was nominated. Comrade Olatunbosun Samuel polled total votes of 5 to defeat Comrade Adisa who polled 2 votes,there was 1 void vote during this exercise.
Comrade Olatunbosun Samuel was then declared the Convention Chairman for NANS JCC Ondo State Axis 2023 convention.
Without much ado,the convention Chairman,Comrade Olatunbosun Samuel appointed Comrade Ibiyemi Abiodun(General Wales) as the Convention Clerk as he declared the convention open proper after which a 10 minute recess was declared.
This was followed by the appointment of Comrade Ogunjimi Tolulope James(Jimmy T) as the Chairman Convention Communique drafting committee,Comrade Ijanusi OLawale Optimum with Comrade Linat and Comrade Majority as members respectively afterthe convention was reconvened.
Going into the convention proper,election into various elective positions commenced with election into the office of the Vice Chairman.
Comrade Ogunsoto Matthew (OAUSTECH SU President) nominated Comrade Salami Abayomi Rasheed from OAUSTECH for the position of Vice Chairman and was seconded by Comrade Alalade Abiola Olutunde(FEDPOLEL).
Com. Salami Abayomi Rasheed contested unopposed and polled a total vote of 8.
He was then declared elected and retuned by the convention chairman.
Furthermore, the election into the office of Treasurer was conducted. Com. Alalade Abiola Olutunde (FEDPOLEL SU President) nominated Comrade Akinwande Olamilekan(FEDPOLEL) for the position of Treasurer and was seconded by Com. Abdulsalam Luqman Omeiza(FECA SU President).
Comrade Akinwande Olamilekan contested unopposed and polled a total vote of 7 with 1 void and was declared elected and returned.
Going further,election into the office of Vice Chairman inter-campus was conducted.
Com. Jesunifemi TenTen Asoore(FUTA SU President) nominated Com. Salawu Praise(RUGIPO) and was seconded by Com. Abdulsalam Luqman Omeiza (FECA SU President).
Com. Salami Praise contested unopposed and polled a total vote of 8,she was declared elected and returned.
The electioneering process continued with the election into the coveted office of the Chairman. Com.Banjo Oluwadamilare (ACE SU President) nominated Comrade Akinola Elijah Temitope p.k.a Sharp (ACE) and was seconded by Com. Alalade Abiola Olutunde(FEDPOLEL) for the office of the Chairman.
On the other hand,Comrade Ajisola Gbenga John(CHTA SU President) nominated Com. Akinwalere Babatunde Edward p.k.a Ebonite(RUGIPO) and was seconded by Com. Ogunsoto Matthew(OAUSTECH SU President) for the office of Chairman.
Comrade Akinola Elijah Temitope polled total votes of 5 to defeat Comrade Akinwalere Babatunde Edward who polled 3 votes.
Comrade Akinwalere Babatunde Edward accepted the outcome of the election in good faith and congratulated Comrade Akinola Elijah Temitope as the elected Chairman.
Comrade Akinola Elijah Temitope on the other hand gave his acceptance speech as the elected Chairman of NANS JCC Ondo State axis.
Furthermore,election into the office of Welfare Director was conducted as Comrade Ajisola Gbenga John(CHTA SU President) nominated Comrade OKiti Moses from CHTA for Welfare Director and was seconded by Comrade Oloyede Rasheed(UNIMED SU President).
Comrade Moses OKiti contested unopposed and polled a total vote of 8 and was declared elected and returned.
A 10 minute recess was then declared by the convention chairman after which the convention was reconvened.
Comrade Ogunsoto Mathew(OAUSTECH SU President) nominated Comrade Adeyemi Daniel from OAUSTECH was nominated for the position of financial secretary and was seconded by Com. Abdulsalam Luqman Omeiza (FECA SU President).
Comrade Adeyemi Daniel contested unopposed and polled a total vote of 8,he was declared elected and returned.
Furthermore, Com. Jesunifemi TenTen Asoore (FUTA SU President) nominated Com. Okeniyi Elijah Oluwasogo from FUTA for the position of PRO and was seconded by Com.Banjo Oluwadamilare(ACE SU President).
Comrade Okeniyi Elijah contested unopposed and polled a total vote of 8,he was declared elected and returned.
Going further, Comrade Oloyede Rasheed(UNIMED SU President) nominated Com. Olabanji Olamigoke from UNIMED for the position of Sport Director and was seconded by Com. Abdulsalam Luqman Omeiza (FECA SU President).
Comrade Olabanji Olamigoke contested unopposed and polled a total vote of 8,he was declared elected and returned.
Furthermore, an election into the office of the Secretary-General was conducted. Comrade Ajisola Gbenga John(CHTA SU President) nominated Comrade Ajegbogun Oludare Isreal from FECA and was seconded by Comrade Ogunsanmi Kolade(AAUA SU President) for the office of Secretary General.
On the other hand, Comrade Jesunifemi TenTen Asoore(FUTA SU President) nominated Comrade Ihedi Cyprian for the office of Secretary General and was seconded by Com. Banjo Oluwadamilare(ACE SU President).
Comrade Ihedi Cyprian from FUTA polled a total vote of 5 to defeat Comrade Ajegbogun Oludare Isreal who polled a total vote of 3. Comrade Ihedi Cyprian was declared elected and returned as the Secretary-General.
Conclusively, elections into the office of ASG and Social Director was suspended till further notice and the convention was declared closed by the Convention Chairman Comrade Olatunbosun Samuel(O’Sam) due to security reasons.
