First Edition Of 'Ojuibile Eko Beauty Pageant' To Hold In Lagos, See Date

The maiden edition of the Ojuibile Eko Beauty Pageant is set to hold in Lagos from Friday 22nd to Friday 29th September 2023.

According to the pageantry organizers, Eko Destinations Limited, entry for the Ojuibile Eko Beauty has commenced, closing Friday 25th August 2023 while screening of applicants is scheduled for Monday 31st of August, 2023.

The organisers explained that the concept of ‘Ojuibile Eko’ will be an annual beauty pageant and an essential tool to showcase the aesthetics of the global brand Lagos State.

“This is not about beauty alone but to find a true and passionate tourism ambassador to promote Lagos and the hidden treasures which still geared to its diverse culture, heritage, our history to the world.

“The winner (queen) will be actively engaged in speeches at prominent functions to increase public-private participation in funding tourism to improve Community-Based Tourism – (CBT) at all the 57 local governments of the state, also ensuring and achieving a balance between economic growth, human well-being and environmental health, thereby putting Lagos as a safe tourist destination on the global map.

“There’s no doubt that Ojuibile Eko Beauty Pageant is a product to be embraced by any corporate entity or individual that knows its significance.

“Given this, it’s our delight to invite you to partake in the actualization of this project, as we believe it is well structured and will assist in positioning your brand as an exceptional one.

“This laudable initiative is coming from the stable of the Eko Destination Limited and will be in collaboration with all the council areas in Lagos State to wield a considerable amount of influence on their tourism potentials and investment opportunity.”

Earlier, Mr. Apata Samson Nunayon, the Managing Director/CEO of Eko Destination Limited who doubles as the Chairman of the Association of Tourism Practitioners of Nigeria (ATPN), Lagos State Chapter, enjoined all stakeholders to ensure all hands are on deck to ensure the Beauty Pageant is projected positively, saying this will foster tourism potential of the state and also make Lagos the preferred Tourism Destination in Africa.

“Lagos is a major African financial centre and is the economic hub of Nigeria at large. The City has long been described as the cultural, financial, and entertainment capital of Africa, and is a significant influence on commerce, entertainment, technology, education, politics, tourism, art and fashion.

Apata added that the theme of the pageant “Greater Lagos; the Rising of a Global Brand” further lend credence and show the world the giant strides of Babajide Olusola Sanwoolu-led administration in Lagos State.

As part of the activities of the weeklong event, prominent bigwigs in the tourism, hospitality and entertainment industry both home and in Diaspora will be honoured during which three tourism products will be unveiled to further draw the attention of tourism investors to Lagos.
