PepsiCo, Inc. has announced ambitious plans to invest US$90 million in the construction of a snack plant in the Ha Nam providence of Vietnam.

The facility will be situated within the expanded Dong Van I Industrial Park, Bach Thuong ward, Duy Tien town, and will span an impressive 80,000 m2.

The plant, managed by PepsiCo Vietnam Foods Company Limited (PepsiCo Foods Vietnam), will incorporate cutting-edge technology and prioritize the use of renewable energy.

Construction of the new factory is scheduled to commence in 2024, and operations in the factory set to begin by the third quarter of 2025.

The multinational giant aims to produce over 23,000 tonnes of snacks annually, catering to the markets of both Vietnam and Cambodia.

In addition to the snack plant, PepsiCo is actively investing in expanding its potato contracting system in Ha Nam and other Northern provinces. The company is committed to implementing regenerative agriculture methods and digital technology in this expansion.

Mr. Truong Quoc Huy, Deputy Secretary and Chairman of Ha Nam Provincial People’s Committee, emphasized that PepsiCo’s investment aligns with the province’s vision to modernize industry by 2025, emphasizing the adoption of renewable energy sources, enhancing the quantity and quality of local labor, and promoting high-tech agriculture.

PepsiCo Vietnam Foods Co., Ltd.’s General Director, Mr. Nguyen Viet Ha, expressed optimism despite economic challenges post-pandemic. He believes that the new factory project will not only contribute to economic development but also provide long-term benefits to society.

The beverage and snack giant, known for its Doritos brand, currently employs approximately 13,000 individuals across its 14 plants and distribution centers in Vietnam.

Meanwhile, PepsiCo Foods Vietnam recently secured the top position in the “Best Place to Work in Vietnam for Small and Medium Enterprises in 2023.”

The recognition marks the unit’s ninth consecutive appearance in the Top 100 list, an annual award organized by Anphabe under the sponsorship of the Vietnam Federation of Trade and Industry.

In July 2023, PepsiCo obtained an investment license for a beverage factory in Huu Thanh Industrial Park, Huu Thanh commune, Duc Hoa district, Long An province. The new facility, with a usable area of 200,000 m2 and an investment of US$185 million, is anticipated to be completed in the first quarter of 2026.

The company remains committed to utilizing domestic raw materials, supporting sustainable potato growing programs, and ensuring stable incomes for workers in its ecosystem.
