With more than 35 million users globally, Revolut is a global financial super app. Today, it introduces Mobile Wallets, a new, simple way to send money overseas.

Remittance experiences are redefined by mobile wallets, which provide a simple, low-friction method. Using just recipient IDs, like their name and phone number or email address, users can send money overseas fast. With mobile wallets, you can lower the risks of using some traditional payment methods, like sending money to the wrong account or leaving money at the bank. Revolut users in the UK and the majority of European Union (EEA) can now use mobile wallets to send money to Kenya (M-Pesa) and Bangladesh (bKash), with additional wallet routes scheduled to launch shortly.

Revolut’s arrival into Kenya and Bangladesh is significant because these two nations mainly rely on mobile wallets for a variety of transactions. Revolut app users can now easily send money to bKash and M-Pesa, providing a convenient mobile payment solution for foreign students and expatriates living overseas.

Akshat Mittal, General Manager for Revolut International Payments, said,“We’re delighted to launch Mobile Wallets so that Revolut customers can send money in a flash. Sending money home is a problem many expats face so it is essential to provide a service that simplifies this and facilitates affordable and convenient international money transfers.

“By continuously adapting to the evolving needs of the digital economy, we hope to continue to empower individuals and families around the world to navigate the complexities of cross-border finance with ease.”
