MTN, one of Nigeria’s leading telecommunications networks, is currently experiencing a network outage, leaving subscribers unable to make calls or use the internet through the service.
BrandSpur Nigeria gathered that this disruption is due to multiple fibre cuts causing a major service outage, affecting both voice and data services.
In response to the issue, MTN released a statement on Wednesday night acknowledging the network challenge.
The telecommunications service assured users that its engineers are actively working to resolve the problem, and services are gradually being restored in some areas.
“We apologise for the inconvenience and ask for your patience and understanding as the team works to restore full service as soon as possible,” MTN said in the statement released.
Frustrated subscribers took to various social media platforms to express their dissatisfaction with the network outage.
