According to a press release, the event will take place virtually on May 27, 2024, marking a significant celebration of young talent and innovation.

Founded in 1992 by John Obaro, SystemSpecs initiated the Children’s Day Essay Competition in 2020, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). The competition has, in the past five years, inspired and cultivated the critical thinking, leadership and advocacy skills of young Nigerians between the ages of nine and 16. The statement further said that this year’s competition received an overwhelming response from public and private schools from public and private schools from 36 states and FCT in Nigeria.

“DeRemi Atanda, Managing Director, Remita, said that the Children’s Day Essay Competition is more than just a competition; it is a forum for young minds to express their ideas and solutions to national issues.” “We are excited to identify and honor these young Nigerian tech champions who embody our values—innovation and perseverance in the pursuit of excellence,” he continued.

Our objective is to develop these talents and foster their growth in order to further Nigeria’s technological advancement. “We express our gratitude to each and every judge who was instrumental in the assessment procedure. The competition’s deserved winners have been identified and celebrated thanks in large part to their knowledge and commitment, according to Bukola Adeboye, Group Head, Corporate Services.

During the virtual ceremony, Miss Tobi Ayeni, also known as “Miss Techy,” a digital content creator and strategist, will announce the winners alongside members of the SystemSpecs Group executive leadership. On June 7, 2024, there will be an awards ceremony to honor the winners and present them with prizes, certificates, and chances for mentorship and future advancement in the tech sector.
