Mr. Lanre Olajide has been appointed as the Head of Wealth and Retail Banking (WRB) by Standard Chartered Bank Nigeria Limited.

Olajide began working for Standard Chartered in 2008 and has since held a number of high-level positions in wealth management, client relations, products, and branch administration. Prior to his appointment, he was Nigeria’s head of wealth solutions, deposits, and mortgages.

Standard Chartered Bank Nigeria’s management credited Olajide’s leadership for the bank’s robust and steady growth in its wealth solutions business in Nigeria over the previous three years, characterizing him as a “core contributor within the network.”

Prior to joining Standard Chartered Bank, he held positions at MBC International Bank, First Bank of Nigeria Plc, and Magnum Trust Bank, which is now Sterling Bank. He began his banking career 24 years ago.

Olajide has expertise in wealth management as well as corporate, commercial, and consumer banking.

In addition to being an Honorary Senior Member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (HCIB), he has a degree in banking and finance. In addition, he has completed several leadership programs both inside and outside the bank, and he is an Associate of the Chartered Institute for Investment and Securities (ACSI).

David Idoru, who oversaw the division from 2019 until leaving the bank this year, gives way to Olajide.
