Nigeria’s Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) have jointly launched a consumer sensitization campaign to offer helpful advice for more efficient data management in an attempt to solve the common concerns regarding data depletion.
By assisting subscribers in making the most use of their data, this programme aims to improve customer satisfaction.
The MNOs jointly identified several prudent data consumption practices that can aid in preventing data depletion.
To avoid using background data, these include;
– turning off automatic app updates
– turning on data saver mode
– and shutting down unwanted apps.
The MNOs encouraged customers through the technology news and information, to use stronger passwords and to update their hotspot and Wi-Fi passwords regularly to avoid unauthorised access and increase data security.
However, users can efficiently control content consumption by turning off auto-downloads and making sure they have enough data for a seamless video streaming experience.
The speed and pattern of data consumption have increased dramatically with the introduction of revolutionary network technologies like 4G, LTE, and the most recent 5G, which offer incredibly high data speeds and improved browsing and streaming experiences. Customers are urged to be aware of these modifications and to adjust how much data they use.
The MNOs disclosed: “It is important for consumers to familiarize themselves with the specific terms and conditions of their data plans.”
Adding that: “Different plans cater to various needs, including weekend-specific plans, social media-only plans, and regular plans configured for night use only.”
