
Dr. Muntaqa Umar Sadiq has been selected by President Bola Tinubu as the National Coordinator of the Nigeria Health Sector Renewal Investment Initiative (NHSRII) Sector-wide Coordinating Office-Programme Management Unit (SCO-PMU).
Chief Ajuri Ngelale, the President’s Special Advisor, made the official announcement of the appointment via a press statement issued from the State House in Abuja.
The formation of the SCO-PMU, which has its headquarters in the Office of the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, was approved by President Tinubu, who made this declaration afterward.

Throughout his career, he has held positions as CEO of the Private Sector Health Alliance of Nigeria, Head of the Nigeria Energy Transition Office, Head of the Performance Management and Delivery Unit at the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, and Private Sector Engagement Adviser at the World Bank.
Dr. Umar Sadiq is presently enrolled at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine to pursue a doctorate in public health.
He graduated from Imperial College, London, with an MBBS in medical science and an M.Phil. in bioscience enterprise from the University of Cambridge.
The administrative division Members of the SCO-PMU will include the Minister of State, the Permanent Secretary, representatives from the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, and pertinent development partners.
The SCO-PMU will report to a Steering Committee/Ministerial Oversight Committee, which will be chaired by the Health Minister.
Lead by a national coordinator, this new division will serve as the NHSRII’s secretariat and delivery unit. The SCO-PMU performs a variety of duties, including fiduciary management, program management, Independent Verification Agent (IVA) engagement and supervision for NHSRII programs, monitoring, and evaluation.
