Bastion Health Admonishes Actuaries To Promote Transparency, Boost Pension Sector

To improve the insurance and pension industries, Bastion Health has urged actuaries to support openness and encourage industry cooperation.

The Managing Director of Bastion Health, Naomi Aduku, revealed this during the National Risk Compendium program on Wednesday at the University of Lagos, according to a statement provided to our correspondent.

To increase healthcare accessibility, Bastion Health, an HMO in the Nigerian market, offers healthcare insurance options.

The purpose of the event, which had as its theme “Transparency and Clarity in Insurance Policies: Navigating Risk Through Clear Policies, Claims, and Actuarial Expertise,” was to close the knowledge gap between young people and the risk management sector.

According to reports accessed by BrandSpur local news brand, Aduku said that promoting growth in the financial services industry requires transparency, especially in the areas of insurance and pension management.

She stated: “In our business of improving healthcare accessibility and affordability through health insurance, it is imperative to define and segment the market, tailor the right products to the right audience, and ensure appropriate pricing and product definition for each market segment. Actuaries are vital to the business of insurance.”

Continuing, she stated that Bastion Health was dedicated to its goal of increasing Nigerians’ access to and affordability of high-quality healthcare.
