The federal government has started providing cybersecurity, digital technology, and associated information and communications technology (ICT) training to middle cadre civil servants working in government ministries, departments, and agencies.
Given the difficulties the nation is currently facing, the government insisted that increased productivity and cybersecurity remained important priorities for the current administration.
Dr. Bosun Tijani, the Minister of Communications, Innovations, and Digital Economy, is leading a revolutionary initiative to modernise government functions.
This monthly effort, which was started in June, will go on until all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) are involved. The Ministry claims that the program is a calculated attempt to involve civil personnel in the reform agenda of the Tinubu government by moving away from manual processes and towards automated or digital ones.
The training concentrates on the topic and is conducted in batches at the Digital Economy Complex in Mbora, Abuja. Findings of BrandSpur national news stories reveal It is titled: “Building Trust in Digital Public Services: The Critical Role of Cybersecurity.”
Continuing, the Ministry is dedicated to encouraging the use of contemporary technological technologies to boost food security, increase productivity, improve government service delivery, and protect the integrity of the country’s internet.
Known as “Delv in Government,” the initiative would help the government increase the GDP of the nation and diversify its sources of income.
Over the weekend, our correspondent learned that the Minister had attended every session since the initiative began because he was committed to seeing everyone through to the digital transformation of the nation’s workplace.
The initiative is essential for the transformation of the digital workspace and for ensuring the integrity and security of the entire system, according to Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, Director General of the National Information Technology Development Agency, NITDA, who spoke at the ceremony.
Abdullahi stated that the “delve in government programs” was intended to bring together developers employed by federal government departments and agencies in order. Mr. Emmanuel Edet, Acting Director of Standards, Guidelines, and Framework at NITDA, represented Abdullahi. Also “to create a community of IT tech-savvy staff and share ideas on how to develop service delivery in government through technology.”
According to him: “So basically on a monthly basis, we gather here together, pick a theme and discuss how to enhance our knowlege, and share practices on how we can better use technology to deliver government services.
“All Ministries, Departments, and Agencies of government are participating in the programme. It serves also as an educational channel where people compare notes, identify similar challenges, identify how those challenges have been resolved in other government agencies, and move the country forward through the deployment of modern technologies.
“It is important that at this level all tools of modern technology are used to improve cybersecurity, enhance productivity, and build confidence and trust in the day-to-day activities of government.
“Security in technology is absolutely necessary to create trust and confidence to enable people to use the technology. The government is adopting all necessary tools, migrating from IPv4 to IPv6, Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI) and providing certain layers of security for all transactions and communications in cyberspace,” he added.
