In order to support women and children in Oyo State with education and training, FREEE Recycle Limited, an integrated recycling and manufacturing company, has partnered with Access Bank and the Oyo State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Inclusion. The project is a component of the 2024 Limited Partnership Series by FREEE Recycle, which aims to have a long-lasting social impact.
The goal of the collaboration with Access Bank was to address the lack of shoes that public primary and secondary school students in Ibadan, Oyo State, were lacking. Through the partnership, more than 4,500 recycled tire sandals were produced and given to educational institutions like Salvation Army Primary School and Saviour Apostolic School. In addition to giving the students access to necessary footwear, this program improved academic performance, increased school attendance, and better health outcomes for the children.
1,090 school bags were produced and given to public schools in Ibadan by the FREEE Recycle collaboration with the Oyo State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Inclusion in a similar endeavor. Women from Oyo State local governments received training and important entrepreneurship skills as part of the partnership, providing them with the means to better their standard of living and provide for their families.
Managing Director of FREEE Recycle Limited Ifedolapo Runsewe declared, “At FREEE Recycle, we want to build a future where social impact and sustainability go hand in hand. Through these collaborations, we’re addressing vital needs in economic empowerment and education in addition to converting waste into resources. By giving students necessities like backpacks and shoes, we’re enhancing their educational experience.
Furthermore, by giving local business owners the tools they need to foster long-term growth, our women’s empowerment programs improve communities one by one. Building a resilient and prosperous future requires a cogent integration of sustainability and social impact.
The company is promoting significant change in nearby communities by fusing social impact initiatives with environmental responsibility. These collaborations between Access Bank and the Oyo State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Inclusion demonstrate the effectiveness of teamwork in tackling urgent issues like women’s empowerment and education. With its operations and outreach continuing to grow, FREEE Recycle is committed to building a sustainable future where environmental stewardship and economic development coexist.
