
The Chief Executive Director of Julius Berger International, Dr. Peer Lubasch, will take over from Engr. Dr. Lars Richter, as Managing Director of Julius Berger Nigeria Plc, following a significant change in the organization’s management structure declared by the Board of Directors.
According to a statement released and signed by the company secretary, Mrs. Cecilia Madueke, the decision to replace the guards was reached during a meeting of the firm’s Board of Directors on September 25, 2024, and was made in light of Richter’s contract expiring the following month.
“The resignation of Engr. Dr Lars Richter as Director and Managing Director of the company at the expiration of his contract of employment on October 15, 2024, was accepted.”
Hence, she declared that the following conclusions had been made: “Engr. Dr Peer Lubasch, in line with the succession plan for the Executive Management, was appointed as a Director and Managing Director of the company with effect from October 16, 2024.”
In a brief statement, the departing MD remarked, “The Board of Directors of Julius Berger Nigeria PLC in their meeting honoured my request to not extend my contract as Managing Director. After six years leading the company as CEO I will be returning to Germany at the end of this year for personal reasons.”
Additionally, he presented Dr. Lubasch, his successor. He disclosed: “I am pleased to announce that Dir. Peer Lubasch, currently the CEO of Julius Berger International GmbH in Wiesbaden, will take over the position starting from 16th October 2024.”
When Richter began working for Julius Berger in 2002 as a young engineer in the company’s Wiesbaden branch, his adventure with the company began. He advanced to become the Managing Director of the business by 2018. He remarked on Wednesday, “Today, I reflect on my fifteen years of service with Julius Berger Nigeria PLC, during which I have had the honor of working with many people in the company and mastered many challenges.”
Richter wished the business ongoing success in achieving its corporate objectives while also thanking the Board, management, and employees for their cooperation, unwavering support, and faith in his leadership, BrandSpur news stories report.
The New Managing director was born on July 1, 1977, and is a citizen of Germany. The University of Duisburg-Essen in Germany awarded him a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering. With a wealth of relevant experience, he is taking over as Julius Berger Nigeria Plc’s new leader.
Joining the Julius Berger Group in 2010 as a Technical Manager, he went on to hold a number of leadership roles in Germany and Nigeria before being appointed Managing Director/CEO of Julius Berger International GmbH in 2022.
He has worked for Julius Berger for 14 of his 20 years in the field. Among his many skills are Analytical Decision-making, Problem-Solving, Communication, Conflict Resolution, and Teamwork.
Among Lubasch’s many positions were those of General Manager of PrimeTech, PrimeTech Design & Engineering Nig. Ltd., Abuja; Non-Executive Director, Board of PrimeTech, PrimeTech Design & Engineering Nig. Ltd., Abuja; Division Manager, Julius Berger Nigeria Plc., Abuja; and Technical Manager, Division Industries Gas & Oil (IGO), Julius Berger Nigeria Plc., Abuja.
With effect from October 16, 2024, he was transferred again to Julius Berger Nigeria Plc and named Managing Director of the company’s Board.
In addition, he has participated in seminars on Site Management, Communication, and international FIDIC contracts in addition to attending numerous Advanced Leadership Programs.
As a qualified engineer, Lubasch has left his stamp on several significant projects throughout Nigeria. A few of these projects are the stunning Lekki-Ikoyi Link Bridge in Lagos, the GE Industrial Plant in Calabar, and the NIS Administrative Building in Abuja.
Among other professional associations, the newly appointed Managing Director is a member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) and the Council of Registered Engineers of Nigeria (COREN). He has fluency in Spanish, German, and English.
As he takes over to direct Julius Berger’s voyage to new heights, he aims to use his skills to his new tasks.
