Global technology giant Zoho yesterday held its Zoholics Nigeria Annual User Conference in Lagos, where it reported 31% growth in Nigeria in 2023, one of its main African markets.
Kehinde Ogundare, the Country Head of Zoho Nigeria, said that the company had increased its local staff in Nigeria by 40% the year before. He stated that the tech company has been offering more than 55 apps in Naira to assist local companies in avoiding currency exchange rate fluctuations.
Additionally, Zoho declared that it will be working with Bridge International Academies to help poor children in Nigeria receive an education.
According to Zoho’s Country Head: “As we continue to grow our presence in Africa, our focus is on ensuring that our expansion positively impacts the local economy, communities, and the broader business ecosystem.
“This approach aligns with our transitional localism strategy, which emphasizes being rooted in local markets while staying globally connected. To support this, we are committed to hiring local talent, strengthening our partner network, and creating products9 tailored to the local market. Additionally, to serve the community, we are supporting the education of children and also undertaking sustainability initiatives,” he added.
Continuing, Ogundare revealed the main goal of the partnership with Bridge International Academies is to sponsor school uniforms, four terms of fees, and other necessary items for students attending Bridge International Academies, thereby supporting the education of 200 children from underprivileged communities.
BrandSpur national news stories report that the goal of this program is to address the issue of financial limitations that prevent many students from having access to necessary school supplies.
Since it launched in 2020, Zoho has seen steady growth in the Nigerian market. In Nigeria, Zoho has experienced a 43% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) during the last three years. The number of partners for Zoho increased by 21% in 2023 alone. Furthermore, the corporation increased the number of local employees in Nigeria by 40% the year before.
The broad adoption of Zoho’s major products—Zoho Workplace, Zoho Books, Zoho Desk, Zoho CRM, and Zoho One—is the main factor behind the company’s success in Nigeria.
Adding, Ogundare states: “These products have played a crucial role in optimising business operations, improving customer experience, and enhancing efficiency. Zoho’s success in the Nigerian region is driven by key sectors such as financial services, energy, real estate and construction, IT hardware & IT related services, professional services (non IT), utilites and resources, and retail.”
