The Nigerian Breweries-Felix Ohiwerei Education Trust Fund has announced the top contenders for the 2024 Maltina Teacher of the Year competition. Out of the 136 teachers who advanced to the second round of grading by the panel of judges, which followed the first grading of 1300 teachers who were successful out of the total number of entries received for the competition, the top 11 candidates emerged.
The following people are among the top finalists: Nwosu Chinenye Augustina of Anthony Obaze Memorial Community Secondary School, Ogbaru LGA, Anambra; Ojo Olumuyiwa Olumide of Apex Group of School, Ibillo, Akoko Edo, Edo State; Ojo Olufunke Adewunmi of Praise Worthy Secondary School, Ikota Ekiti, Eki State; and Akinyele Samuel of Kingdom Seed International School, Lokoja, Kogi State, BrandSpur national news stories report.
Other finalists are Isaac Michael Ayodele of CAC Grammar School, Akure, Ondo State; Famuyide Florence Bola of Olatunde Comprehensive High School, Owena-Ijesa, Osun State; Esomnofu Chidiebube Ifechukwu of Crown Grace School, Mararaba, Nasarawa State; Kehinde Oladapo Olukayode of Molusi College, Oke Sopen, Ijebu-Igbo, Ogun State; and Abiodun Regina Nwagbo of Mother’s Joy College, Ibadan, Oyo State.
As the top contenders were revealed, Nigerian Breweries Plc’s Corporate Affairs Director, Sade Morgan, praised the judges’ hard work during the selection process. She also praised the jurors’ high degree of scrutiny, which they used to illustrate the competition’s transparency and fairness across the many grading stages. To become the competition’s eventual winner, she exhorted the finalists to keep putting in their best effort.
The event’s chief host, Mr. Babajide Sanwo Olu, the governor of Lagos State, and special guest of honour, the Honourable Minister of State for Education, Hon. Dr. Yussuf Sununu, will announce and recognise the winner at the event’s grand finale on Friday, October 11, 2024, at the Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos. Since the program’s launch, over 200 educators have received praise and delectable awards.
It is expedient to know the tenth edition of the Maltina Teacher of the Year Competition will crown its winner in 2024 following a demanding interview and assessment of the contenders by the distinguished panel of judges.
