Multichoice Group, a pay-TV provider, has rebranded its SuperSport variety channels for DStv and GOtv. The announcement that the adjustments went into effect on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, was made by MultiChoice West Africa’s Executive Head of Marketing, Tope Oshunkeye, in a statement released on Thursday.
A change to DStv and GOtv SuperSport Africa is the new moniker for the present SuperSport Select Channel as part of the rebranding. A new channel called SuperSport Action has also been launched. It offers more Champions League games and UFC fights among other sports programming.
The following adjustments will be made to GOtv packages:
- SuperSport Africa will take the place of Select 2 on the GOtv Jinja and GOtv Jolli bundles (Channel 64).
- SuperSport Africa and SuperSport Africa 2 will take the place of Select 1 and Select 2 on the GOtv Max bundle (Channels 63 and 64).
- Select 3 (Channel 69) will be replaced by SuperSport Action in the GOtv Supa and SupaPlus bouquets.
Oshunkeye explained the updates’ purpose, saying: “The channel revamp is part of our ongoing efforts to enhance our sports offering and provide customers with more unbeatable sports content that resonates with them.”
He went on to say that the new channels would include world-class sports action, including UFC bouts, local boxing, in-depth analysis, and other interesting programming specially selected for the African market, BrandSpur technology, and information news reports.
Oshunkeye restated MultiChoice’s pledge to provide top-notch services, stating: “We remain dedicated to delivering the best sporting action to our customers and continuously exploring ways to delight them with more choices, exciting live content, and great value.”
It is recommended that subscribers use the MyGOtv App or *288# to subscribe, reconnect, or upgrade their packages. With the GOtv Stream app, they can watch their preferred sports on the go as well.
