OAAN President Predicts OOH Advertising To Experience Expansion In 2025

As the president of the Out-of-Home Advertising Association of Nigeria (OAAN), a prominent expert in OOH media, and the Managing Director of Kok Visibility, a top outdoor marketing firm, Sola Akinsiku predicts that the OOH advertising business will experience substantial expansion in 2025.

In an exclusive conversation with MARKET EDGE, the industry leader voiced optimism about the future of the sector, pointing to improving economic conditions and rising demand for OOH platforms.

Akinsiku had this to say: “I expect a better business climate this year. The indices are there. Reports from the CBN and other institutions suggest the economy is looking upwards, and our businesses will follow suit.”

The ardent supporter of industry professionalism stressed the value of cooperation and respect amongst all parties involved in the sector, including media owners, marketers, and regulatory agencies. He also emphasised how important technology developments will be in determining how OOH advertising develops in the future.

He went on to say: “We are all working together in the overall best interest of the brands. The advertiser will rely on our professional competency to ensure that we communicate the values they have created for the brands appropriately to the intended audiences. We are looking forward to the new trends, the new viewing trends. The capacity of our members to cope with these new trends, especially in technology, will greatly influence their success.”

According to him: “It will make for higher levels of professionalism, increase employment opportunities, and enhance the industry’s integrity.”

He, however, projected a minimum of 40% performance improvement over 2024 and conveyed confidence in the sector’s growth trajectory in a futuristic manner. As a major force behind this expansion, he emphasised the value of ongoing education, research funding, and building closer ties within the sector.
