
The New Telegraph Investor/Transaction of the Year 2024 award was bagged yesterday by oil tycoon, Jubril Adewale Tinubu, the GCE of the top oil and gas company, Oando.
At the celebration, BrandSpur Nigeria news accessed, held at the Oriental Hotels, the oil expert, who has three decades of expected performance in the oil industry, was one of several notable Nigerians who returned home with accolades. The OANDO boss received the well-deserved honour for directing his team to successfully complete the $783 million acquisition of Agip Oil Company.
Many people called the August 2024 completion of the deal “a remarkable one for the nation’s economy.” Tinubu is a brilliant, practical, and astute individual who acts when the chips are down. He, who has a talent for seeing opportunities before others do, has made Oando one of the world’s top oil and gas companies over the course of the last 30 years of unbroken entrepreneurship.

Governor Ahmed Aliyu of Sokoto State was named Governor of the Year in Economy, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State was named Governor of the Year in Projects, and Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State was named Governor of the Year 2024.
Other recipients include Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State, Senator Ademola Adeleke of Osun State, and Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State. Mr Mele Kyari, the Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL), was named the newspaper’s esteemed Man of the Year 2024, and Barrister Festus Keyamo (SAN), the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, was named the Minister of the Year 2024 in Transformative Leadership.
