Dr. Doyin Okupe, a former presidential spokesperson is deceased. According to family sources, he passed away on Friday at the age of 71.

Before becoming the Director-General of Peter Obi’s 2023 presidential campaign, Okupe was a top advisor to former President Goodluck Jonathan. He resigned from Obi’s campaign in December 2022 following a conviction for money laundering. Later, following the general elections in 2023, he left the Labour Party.
