Stephen Ifeanyichukwu Ejezie, a former quality assurance specialist at Access Bank‘s contact centre, Oniru, Lagos State, is accused of surreptitiously filming hundreds of video clips of his coworkers in the toilet.
According to FIJ, he was caught filming a female employee taking a bath in the female toilet at around 1:30 am. The bank reportedly ordered his arrest and raided his home, but he was later released. Although the bank appears to have fired him, some of the contact centre employees have reason to think that the bank may decide not to sue Ejezie “to protect its brand” now that he appears to have been released from police custody.
One of them remarked, “Perhaps it is because we are contract staff.”
Employees at the Access Bank’s customer support department, the contact centre, are aware that they work in shifts. Therefore, among other things, some people must sleep, clean, and take a bath at the office.
According to one of the employees: “Ejezie snuck into the ladies restroom. I believe he wanted to hide his camera as usual, so he noticed ladies coming and hid in one of the toilets beside the bathroom.
“He was found when a lady taking her bath noticed a phone recording her from the toilet cubicle, which is directly by the side of the bathroom. She noticed someone closed the water closet seat and was making a video. She just saw the camera by chance,” it added.
He opened the door when the woman sounded the alarm and more colleagues begged the person inside to do so.
The staff added: “That was when people saw it was Stephen. He said he didn’t know how he got to the ladies’ toilet but couldn’t explain the part of him making videos.”
More than 400 videos of his female colleagues’ nude were discovered on his laptop during a police raid the following day, Thursday, according to sources available to BrandSpur banking and finance news desk, who also said he was arrested later that day after more footage of them bathing or nude in the bathroom was discovered on his devices. He allegedly sold the videos online to both white people and Indians.
The source said: “He has an OnlyFans account he created to sell people’s nudes and videos taken unawares. They also found some he’s been selling on Telegram.”
They would never have suspected Ejezie of any wrongdoing, not in a million years, one of his colleagues claimed, describing the type of person he appeared to be.
According to a former colleague: “He was so cool and would always ask after people. That aside, he was an exceptional agent. No one would ever have thought this would come from him.”
