Headies Awards’ 17th Edition Holds In Lagos To Celebrate Nigerian Musicians

On April 27, 2025, Nigeria’s top musicians came together at the Landmark Events Centre, Victoria Island for a night of celebration and acknowledgement at the 17th edition of The Headies Awards, which dazzlingly took place in Lagos.

During the event, which was hosted by Nollywood actress Nancy Isime, Chike’s song “Egwu” won two awards: Best Music Video and Viewers Choice Award of the Year. Rema’s “Heis” won Album of the Year, and the late Mohbad, who was featured in Chike’s song, won Best Street-Hop Artiste for his 2023 single “Ask About Me,” which his wife received on his behalf.

The evening honoured the musicians who influenced the soundscape of the previous year while fusing poignant tributes with thrilling performances.
