Lagos State Government Partners Zedcrest Group To Provide Job Openings Through MacTay For Qualified Graduate Trainees

Leading financial services company Zedcrest Group and the Lagos State Government have partnered strategically to provide top graduates of the recently concluded state-sponsored ICT skills training program with internship and entry-level job opportunities through MacTay.

At the 2024 cohort’s graduation ceremony held at the Adeyemi Bero Auditorium in Ikeja, Lagos, Oyinkansola Adeboye, Head of Brands and Communications at Zedcrest Group, made the announcement. She stressed that the collaboration is a reflection of Zedcrest’s commitment to developing capacity in a variety of industries, not just finance. The company’s continuous efforts to fund projects that give young Nigerians the skills they need for success in the future were highlighted by her.

The program’s launch, which she described as essential to closing Nigeria’s youth digital skills gap, was also commended by MacTay and the Lagos State Government. Adeboye gave her word that Zedcrest is dedicated to helping bright recent graduates succeed in their careers, BrandSpur Nigeria news reports.

According to MacTay Director Tunde Rotimi, the training was created in partnership with the Lagos State Ministry of Wealth Creation and Employment. According to him, the program is a component of Lagos’s larger objective to equip young people with the advanced digital skills necessary in the technology-driven economy of today, thereby preparing them for the workforce of the future. The Director emphasised that graduates were encouraged to use their newly acquired skills to establish prosperous careers and that the curriculum was thoughtfully designed to satisfy the demands of a quickly changing digital landscape.

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu emphasised the importance of the initiative and the collaborations that enable it. The initiative’s goal is to enable young people to become innovators and job creators who can take advantage of global opportunities, transform local businesses, and propel economic growth, he said. He accompanied by Hon. Akinyemi Bankole Ajigbotafe, the State Commissioner for Wealth Creation and Employment, disclosed that more than 3,000 people applied for the program in 2024. There were only 200 candidates selected after a thorough selection process. After completing extensive training as data analysts and full-stack software engineers, these graduates obtained globally recognised certifications that improve their employability.

However, as the graduates embark on their future careers, Governor Sanwo-Olu congratulated them on their accomplishment and encouraged them to be role models for ambition, ingenuity, and resilience.
