With the release of Foxit PDF Editor v2025.2, the industry’s first MCP (Modular Communication Protocol) Host, was introduced by Foxit, a global provider of PDF and eSignature solutions.
This innovation revolutionises document management for professionals by enabling real-time, AI-driven workflows across platforms like Gmail, Salesforce, and Jira. As part of a multi-step, agentic workflow, the new MCP Host enables users to take actions directly within the PDF Editor.
BrandSpur digital news platform reports that to create a Jira ticket, send an email through Gmail, or update Salesforce records, for instance, text can be taken out of a document and used within the PDF environment. The AI agent is guaranteed to preserve context when switching between tools thanks to MCP’s standardised communication.
Foxit is simplifying document-centric processes and facilitating quicker, more intelligent productivity by eliminating the need to manually reenter data and switch between applications.
According to Foxit’s Vice President of Product, Nake Sekander: “With the release of our MCP, we are leading the market in connecting PDF documents to a world of new systems – securely and without friction. MCP unlocks a world of capabilities.
“It streamlines and optimises every document workflow, enabling teams to move faster by staying connected to the tools they use the most,” Sekander added.
Continuing, numerous tools, such as Gmail, Salesforce, Canva, Jira, HubSpot, Box, and Autodesk Revit, are supported by Foxit’s MCP Host integration. As part of the AI Assistant, it can be found in both Foxit PDF Reader and PDF Editor Desktop.
It can be used for any of the underlined:
