Carbon AI Announces AI In Action 2026 Summit To Accelerate Africa’s Artificial Intelligence Revolution

Carbon AI has unveiled plans for its flagship AI in Action 2026 conference, scheduled for 22 January 2026 at the Lagos Oriental Hotel, signalling a major push for practical, homegrown artificial intelligence solutions across Africa.

The summit aims to move beyond AI hype, focusing on actionable innovation that can drive productivity, sustainability, and economic growth on the continent. Debola Ibiyode, CEO of Carbon AI and convener of the event, said the conference is designed to explore the real-world application of AI technologies, including Large Language Models, Agentic AI Frameworks, and Generative AI tools.

Brandspur Technology News reports that AI in Action 2026 will target participants who are actively building, deploying, and leading AI solutions rather than simply discussing concepts. “We aren’t chasing hype or funding; we are chasing real impact,” Ibiyode said. “Our mission is to empower founders to turn ideas into deployable AI solutions while promoting responsible and ethical AI adoption that delivers measurable social and economic benefits.”

The event will feature keynote speeches, panel discussions, and hands-on workshops, offering attendees practical experience in creating, scaling, and deploying AI tools. A startup and product showcase will spotlight innovative African-built AI solutions, while dedicated mentorship and networking sessions will connect early-stage founders with industry experts and decision-makers.

According to Ibiyode, the summit expects a diverse audience, including software engineers, AI practitioners, data scientists, policymakers, educators, and ICT infrastructure providers, all collaborating to ensure Africa’s AI revolution is inclusive, ethical, and sustainable.

Organisers have also introduced tiered sponsorship packages, providing companies with the opportunity to position themselves at the forefront of Africa’s emerging AI ecosystem and gain access to top talent and decision-makers shaping the continent’s technological future.

Ibiyode concluded: “Africa’s digital transformation must be homegrown. Whether you are developing solutions, shaping policy, or mentoring young innovators, AI in Action 2026 is the platform to build the future together, not just discuss it.”

The conference promises to be a landmark event in Africa’s tech calendar, driving innovation and practical adoption of AI solutions that address real-world challenges.
