Nigeria’s advertising industry has recorded another major global milestone as X3M Ideas emerged as the number one advertising agency in Nigeria and 7th among independent agencies across Africa and the Middle East in the 2025 Loeries Official Rankings.
The latest ranking, released in January 2025 by the Loeries, one of the continent’s most respected platforms for recognising excellence in brand communication and creative advertising, further cements X3M Ideas’ dominance within Nigeria’s creative ecosystem.
The Lagos-headquartered agency’s latest achievement comes months after it was named Nigeria’s most creative advertising agency at the 2025 Lagos Advertising & Ideas Festival (LAIF) Awards, a recognition determined by industry peers and stakeholders.
Brandspur Brand News reports that the Loeries rankings are compiled using cumulative scores from winning and shortlisted entries at the annual Loerie Awards, making them an independent and data-driven benchmark of creative performance across Africa and the Middle East.
By topping the Nigerian rankings and securing a top-ten continental position, X3M Ideas has reaffirmed its status as one of Africa’s most influential creative agencies, competing with leading firms from South Africa, Kenya, the Middle East, and North Africa.
Founded in 2012, X3M Ideas has built a reputation for consistently delivering globally competitive creative work. The agency made history in 2023 by becoming the first Nigerian and West African agency to win a Cannes Lions award, following the success of its internationally acclaimed “Soot City Life Expectancy” campaign. The win ended a more than 70-year absence of Cannes Lions recognition for the region.
Beyond creative awards, X3M Ideas has also gained recognition for its commercial growth and business performance. In May 2025, the agency was listed on the Financial Times of London’s Africa’s Fastest-Growing Companies, ranking 31st out of 130 companies across the continent. The ranking reflected a 563.9 per cent growth rate and an 87.9 per cent compound annual growth rate, placing Nigeria’s advertising sector firmly on the global business map.
Industry analysts say the agency’s rise signals a broader shift in Africa’s creative economy, where storytelling, innovation, and cultural relevance are increasingly driving global brand conversations.
X3M Ideas’ performance also highlights the growing international competitiveness of Nigeria’s advertising industry, a sector often overshadowed by fintech, energy, and technology in global rankings.
With consistent recognition from LAIF, Cannes Lions, the Financial Times, and now the Loeries, X3M Ideas continues to position Nigeria as a serious force in global creative excellence, setting new benchmarks for agencies across Africa and the Middle East.
