
Interswitch, one of Africa’s leading integrated payments and digital commerce companies, has concluded the Grand Finale of its Technovation 4.0 Hackathon, distributing a total of ₦10 million in cash prizes to top-performing teams. The event, held on March 4, 2026, at the Interswitch Innovation Lab in Lagos, showcased innovative solutions developed by employees through months of ideation and product development under the theme “The Wicked Hackathon.”
Brandspur Banking News Desk reports that Team Quickteller Fashion emerged as the overall winner, taking home the grand prize of ₦4,000,000 for a solution that impressed judges with its originality, feasibility, and strategic relevance. Team Kampe secured second place with ₦2,500,000, while Team Stable received ₦1,500,000 for finishing third. Additional cash awards of up to ₦300,000 were granted to the fourth, fifth, and sixth qualifying teams.
The fourth edition of Technovation has become Interswitch’s flagship internal innovation platform since its inception in 2022. The programme encourages employees to tackle organisational and industry challenges by developing scalable technology solutions aligned with the company’s strategic priorities.

Adaobi Okerekeocha, Chief Innovation Officer at Interswitch, highlighted the importance of the Hackathon in reinforcing the company’s innovation-driven culture. “Technovation continues to reflect who we are as an organisation—bold, forward-thinking, and deeply committed to building impactful solutions from within. The passion, discipline, and ingenuity demonstrated by our teams this year reinforce our belief in the power of African innovation to solve complex challenges and shape the future of technology on the continent,” she said.
Over nine months, cross-functional teams collaborated to conceptualise, validate, develop, and refine solutions, advancing from raw ideas to minimum viable products with ready-to-market potential. The Grand Finale featured live demonstrations and detailed pitches from the top nine teams, with judges evaluating solutions on technical merit, market viability, and potential impact.
Technovation 4.0 underscores Interswitch’s commitment to cultivating internal talent, promoting experimentation, and creating a structured pathway for transforming ideas into tangible business outcomes. As the programme concludes, it solidifies the company’s position as a leader in fostering innovation within Africa’s digital payments ecosystem.
