Mars Snacking has announced a $100 million investment to significantly expand its global headquarters in Chicago, a move expected to generate more than 600 new full-time jobs and strengthen its operational footprint in the United States.

The expansion will consolidate several of the company’s core divisions—including its North America regional business, Accelerator unit, and global functions—into a larger, centralised headquarters. In addition, Mars Snacking plans to establish a new regional office in Chicago’s Fulton Market district, with capacity to host over 1,000 employees.

Brandspur Brand News reports that the project is being supported through an Economic Development for a Growing Economy (EDGE) incentive agreement, under which the company has committed to both capital investment and job creation targets. The initiative reflects growing confidence in Illinois as a hub for food manufacturing and innovation.

As part of the broader plan, the company’s Accelerator division will also launch a global office hub in downtown Chicago, aimed at enhancing innovation, product development, and commercialisation capabilities. The facility will occupy a former major food company headquarters, further cementing Chicago’s status as a key centre for the food and beverage sector.

Mars Snacking already maintains a strong presence in the region, supporting thousands of jobs and producing a wide portfolio of globally recognised brands such as M&M’s, Snickers, Pringles, and Cheez-It.

Alongside the infrastructure expansion, the Mars Snacking Foundation has unveiled a new community-focused initiative, committing millions of dollars in grants to support social development projects across the United States in 2026. The programme is designed to enhance community engagement and improve shared public spaces, particularly in underserved areas.
