
Access Bank (Ghana) Plc has named Eric Frempong Amponsah as its new Head of Marketing and Communications, effective immediately. The appointment signals the bank’s renewed focus on brand leadership and strategic corporate storytelling in one of West Africa’s most competitive banking sectors.
Amponsah joins Access Bank from Fidelity Bank Ghana, where he served as Head of Brand & Corporate Communications. His career trajectory includes senior leadership roles across financial services, consulting, and advertising, with earlier agency-side experience as an account manager at Ogilvy Ghana.
His academic credentials include an MA in Marketing Communications from the University of Westminster and a B.Ed in Psychology from the University of Cape Coast.
Industry observers note that his blend of multinational and local expertise positions him to drive integrated campaigns, digital engagement, and reputation management at Access Bank, which has been expanding its retail and corporate footprint across Ghana.
The appointment also aligns with the bank’s “More than Banking” ethos, emphasizing customer-centric innovation and community impact.
