
Zedvance Finance Limited has appointed Professor Pius ‘Deji Olanrewaju as Chairman of its Board of Directors, with the appointment taking effect from July 1, 2026, subject to approval by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
The financial services company said the leadership change is part of its efforts to reinforce corporate governance as it pursues the next phase of business expansion, innovation and long-term value creation. The enhanced board structure is expected to provide stronger strategic oversight as Zedvance continues to grow its operations in Nigeria’s financial services sector.
According to Brandspur Banking News Desk, the appointment brings an experienced banking and governance professional to the company’s board at a time when financial institutions are placing greater emphasis on risk management, regulatory compliance and sustainable growth.
Professor Olanrewaju is recognised for his extensive experience across banking, finance, legal practice, academia and corporate governance, having spent more than four decades in leadership roles within the financial services industry. His expertise spans strategic management, institutional governance and organisational development.
Reacting to his appointment, Olanrewaju said he was honoured to lead the board of Zedvance Finance, noting that the company has built a reputation for using technology and innovation to deliver financial solutions. He added that he looks forward to working with fellow board members and management to advance the company’s strategic objectives and create lasting value for stakeholders.
A respected legal scholar and banking professional, Olanrewaju holds multiple academic qualifications, including degrees in law and other disciplines, culminating in a doctorate. He is also a Fellow of several professional bodies, including the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN), where he previously served as President and Chairman of the Governing Council after more than three decades of service to the institute.
Beyond his professional roles in banking, Olanrewaju is a Professor of Banking Law at Babcock University, where he previously served as Provost and Dean of the School of Law and Security Studies. He has contributed to legal scholarship through books and academic publications and currently serves on the boards of several organisations, including Babcock University Microfinance Bank.
Zedvance said his appointment is expected to strengthen the company’s leadership framework as it continues to expand its presence in Nigeria’s financial sector while maintaining strong governance standards and delivering value to customers, investors and other stakeholders.
