US Declares Visa Restrictions For Anyone Who Undermines Nigeria’s Elections

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has terminated its arrangement with Online Integrated Solution (OIS Services), ending the company’s role as the operator of Nigeria’s Visa Application and Submission Centres across the United States. The directive takes immediate effect, with all visa applicants now required to submit their applications directly to Nigerian diplomatic missions in the US instead of using OIS-operated centres.

The development marks a significant change to Nigeria’s visa processing system for applicants in the United States, where OIS Services had for years handled visa application submissions, appointments and related administrative services on behalf of Nigerian authorities. Under the new arrangement, visa applicants must deal directly with the appropriate Nigerian embassy or consulate for the processing of their requests.

The move, reported by Brandspur Banking News Desk, is expected to affect individuals and businesses planning travel to Nigeria from the United States, particularly those with pending or intended visa applications. Applicants are expected to follow updated procedures issued by the relevant Nigerian diplomatic missions as the transition takes effect.

OIS Services has long operated as a third-party service provider supporting Nigeria’s visa application process in the United States through designated processing centres. Its platform facilitated appointment scheduling, document collection and biometric enrolment, while final visa decisions remained the responsibility of the Nigeria Immigration Service.

The latest decision effectively removes OIS Services from that role, signalling a return to direct handling of visa submissions by Nigerian diplomatic missions in the US. Travellers and prospective visitors are advised to consult the appropriate Nigerian embassy or consulate for updated application requirements and processing arrangements.
