TeKnowledge, Equinix Partner To Accelerate Hybrid Cloud And AI Infrastructure Across West Africa In 2026

TeKnowledge and Equinix have entered a strategic partnership to help enterprises and public sector organisations across West Africa accelerate the adoption of secure hybrid and multi-cloud technologies while expanding access to AI-ready digital infrastructure. The collaboration is aimed at supporting businesses and governments as demand for cloud computing, artificial intelligence and data-driven services continues to grow across the region.

The agreement combines Equinix’s digital infrastructure and data centre capabilities with TeKnowledge’s expertise in cloud, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, customer experience and managed technology services. The partners say the initiative will enable organisations to modernise their digital operations while meeting data residency, regulatory compliance and security requirements.

Brandspur Brand News reports that the partnership is expected to strengthen digital transformation efforts across Nigeria and the wider West African market by providing locally hosted infrastructure supported by in-country engineering expertise. The companies also expect the collaboration to improve digital resilience and expand access to advanced technology platforms for both private and public sector institutions.

As organisations deploy more cloud-based applications and AI-powered services, the need for low-latency connectivity, secure interconnection and scalable digital infrastructure has become increasingly important. The partnership is designed to address these requirements by offering businesses private access to cloud environments, enterprise networks and technology ecosystems capable of supporting next-generation workloads.

The collaboration also aligns with Nigeria’s broader digital transformation agenda, including ongoing efforts to strengthen artificial intelligence capabilities, improve cybersecurity resilience and promote data sovereignty. By enabling organisations to host sensitive information within national borders, the initiative aims to support regulatory compliance while enhancing trust in digital services.

TeKnowledge’s engineering workforce, including technology professionals based in Nigeria, will provide implementation, management and optimisation services for customers undertaking complex digital transformation projects. Combined with Equinix’s global network of interconnected data centres, the companies believe the partnership will help organisations scale operations more efficiently while supporting long-term innovation.

The alliance will focus on sectors where secure and resilient digital infrastructure is becoming increasingly essential, including financial services, fintech, telecommunications, healthcare, energy, government institutions and digital-native businesses. As cloud adoption and AI deployment continue to expand across West Africa, the partnership is expected to provide organisations with the technology foundation needed to support future growth and digital competitiveness.
