Skydd has unveiled a new female-led executive team to spearhead its next phase of growth, positioning itself as Nigeria’s first insure-fintech company focused on integrating protection into everyday financial services rather than treating insurance as a standalone product.
The company announced that Chituru Nsirim and Anu Oyeleye will lead its strategic expansion as it accelerates efforts to embed protection solutions into digital financial ecosystems serving individuals and businesses across Nigeria.
The move comes as financial technology companies increasingly diversify beyond payments and lending into broader financial services, with embedded insurance emerging as a growing segment within Africa’s digital economy. Brandspur Banking News Desk understands that Skydd aims to make protection an integral part of savings, payments, digital wallets and other everyday financial products.
Nsirim, a founding executive at Skydd, oversees Business Development and Operations. With more than a decade of experience spanning banking and insurance, she has played a central role in developing the company’s commercial partnerships, operational framework and growth strategy since its inception.
Oyeleye leads Product and Marketing at Skydd, bringing over ten years of experience in fintech, product development and technology. Having previously founded a technology company and managed product teams at several fast-growing Nigerian fintech firms, she is responsible for driving the company’s product strategy and customer experience.
Together, the leadership team combines expertise in financial services, technology, operations and product innovation as Skydd expands its footprint within Nigeria’s evolving fintech landscape.
The company currently serves more than 20,000 active customers and says it operates with positive earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) as well as positive cash flow, reflecting its focus on sustainable business growth.
Beyond its direct-to-consumer offerings, Skydd is expanding its technology infrastructure to enable banks, fintech companies, employers, merchants and software developers to integrate protection services directly into their own digital platforms and customer experiences.
Its platform is designed to combine protection products with savings, digital wallets, payment cards and other financial services within a unified ecosystem, allowing businesses to offer embedded protection alongside existing financial solutions.
The embedded finance model has gained momentum globally as financial institutions and technology companies seek to provide customers with seamless access to multiple financial products through a single digital experience.
While Skydd’s operations are currently focused on Nigeria, the company says its long-term ambition is to build the technology infrastructure that powers embedded protection services across Africa, supporting wider financial inclusion and expanding access to digital financial protection solutions.
