Grammy-winning South African singer Tyla has become the first African artist to receive an official Bratz collector doll, marking another milestone in her expanding global influence across music, fashion and popular culture.
The collaboration with the iconic doll brand celebrates the singer’s distinctive style and international success, with the limited-edition collector’s item recreating two of Tyla’s most memorable fashion moments while featuring accessories inspired by her music career.
According to Brandspur Brand News, the announcement represents a full-circle achievement for the singer, who had publicly expressed her desire to have her own Bratz doll after fans created Bratz-inspired artwork of her in 2024. The collaboration places Tyla alongside a select group of global celebrities who have received official Bratz collector editions.
The doll showcases detailed recreations of Tyla’s sculptural Balmain outfit from the 2024 Met Gala and one of her signature performance looks. It also features carefully designed facial details, including her signature beauty marks, alongside accessories such as miniature award trophies, a microphone, jewellery, a replica of her TYLA album on vinyl, and other collectibles reflecting her career.
The partnership also coincides with the release of a limited-edition Bratz-themed alternate cover for Tyla’s forthcoming sophomore album, Apop, offering fans a special collector’s vinyl edition featuring exclusive artwork and an autographed insert.
The Tyla x Bratz collector doll is scheduled to launch on 27 July with purchases limited to two units per customer. Retailing for $75, the release further strengthens Tyla’s position as one of Africa’s most influential global entertainers, highlighting the growing recognition of African artists in international fashion, entertainment and consumer brands.
