How To Apply For FG Laptop And Smartphone Loan Under CREDICORP C.L.I.C.K.D. Programme In 2026

The Federal Government has opened applications for its new Credit for Laptops, Internet, Connectivity and Knowledge Digital Devices (C.L.I.C.K.D.) programme, giving eligible Nigerians an opportunity to acquire laptops, smartphones and tablets through a consumer credit scheme instead of paying the full purchase price upfront.

The initiative is being implemented by the Nigerian Consumer Credit Corporation (CREDICORP) in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy. It is aimed at expanding access to digital devices while supporting digital skills development and boosting the adoption of locally assembled technology products.

Applicants can begin the process by visiting the official C.L.I.C.K.D. application portal, indicating their interest and completing the required registration details. Brandspur Banking News Desk reports that applicants will be required to provide information including their state of residence, employment status, digital talent programme affiliation, preferred device, intended use of the device and consent for CREDICORP to assess their eligibility.

The application process also allows users to indicate whether they are employed, self-employed, business owners, students, job seekers or National Youth Service Corps members. While providing monthly income is optional, applicants are expected to disclose whether they belong to recognised digital talent programmes such as 3MTT, Andela Learning Community, ALX Africa, HNG Internship, AltSchool Africa, Learn2Earn or Genesys Tech Hub.

The programme currently prioritises locally assembled laptops and is being introduced through a pilot phase involving 1,000 devices. At this stage, the initial rollout is focused on beneficiaries of the Federal Government’s Three Million Technical Talent (3MTT) programme, with distribution beginning in Abuja before extending to other states.

Although the application portal lists participants from several digital training initiatives, CREDICORP has so far confirmed only 3MTT fellows for the first batch of beneficiaries. The corporation has also not yet announced the interest rates, repayment period or any down-payment requirements that will apply under the credit scheme.

The C.L.I.C.K.D. programme forms part of the Federal Government’s broader efforts to improve access to digital technology, deepen financial inclusion and support Nigeria’s digital economy by enabling more citizens to own essential productivity devices through structured consumer financing.
