Rafa Corporation has announced a major investment in advanced soap manufacturing technology with plans to establish what is expected to become Nigeria’s largest single-line continuous soap production facility, significantly expanding its manufacturing capacity and strengthening its position in the country’s home and personal care industry.
The company has signed agreements for the construction and installation of a continuous saponification plant integrated with a continuous vacuum soap cooling and drying system capable of producing 10 tonnes of soap per hour. Once operational, the facility is expected to rank as Nigeria’s largest single-line continuous saponification plant while complementing the company’s expanding detergent manufacturing operations.
The latest investment reflects Rafa Corporation’s broader strategy to deepen local manufacturing and increase production capacity for both domestic and regional markets. According to Brandspur Brand News, the project is designed to support the production of a wide variety of multipurpose soap bars and premium soap noodles, enabling the company to respond more effectively to growing consumer demand across Nigeria and West Africa.
In addition to the new soap production plant, Rafa Corporation has also contracted the installation of two automated toilet soap finishing lines, each with a production capacity of four tonnes per hour. The new facilities will incorporate modern processing technologies aimed at improving manufacturing efficiency, product quality and operational reliability while supporting the company’s expanding personal care portfolio.
The expansion builds on Rafa Corporation’s existing manufacturing footprint, which includes an 80,000-tonne annual powder detergent production facility located in Alaro City, Epe, Lagos. The company also plans to commission a second detergent production line before the end of 2026, increasing its installed detergent manufacturing capacity to about 200,000 tonnes annually.
The latest projects represent a significant step in Rafa Corporation’s ambition to build an integrated consumer goods manufacturing platform capable of serving rapidly growing markets across the region. The investment is also expected to strengthen local industrial capacity, create additional employment opportunities and reinforce Nigeria’s position as a growing manufacturing hub for household and personal care products in Africa.
