Twelve Nigerian startups have secured places in the fourth cohort of the Mastercard Foundation EdTech Fellowship, earning funding and business support to grow technology-driven solutions aimed at improving access to education.
The programme, run by Co-creation Hub (CcHUB) in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation, will provide each startup with up to $100,000 in equity-free funding. Participants will also receive 18 months of tailored support covering product development, communications, business strategy and other growth-focused services.
This year’s cohort reflects a growing push towards inclusive education. Brandspur Brand News learnt that the selected startups are developing solutions for children and young people with disabilities, internally displaced persons (IDPs), girls and young women, learners in rural and underserved communities, as well as platforms that strengthen education and workforce data systems.

The latest selection builds on the fellowship’s ongoing efforts to support African founders using technology to tackle some of the continent’s most pressing education challenges. Rather than providing funding alone, the programme is designed to help early-stage companies refine their products, strengthen their operations and prepare for long-term growth.
CcHUB, widely recognised as Nigeria’s first innovation and technology hub, established the fellowship with the Mastercard Foundation to help promising EdTech businesses move beyond the startup stage and reach more learners across Africa.
As demand for digital learning solutions continues to grow, initiatives such as the EdTech Fellowship are expected to give local innovators the resources, mentorship and industry connections needed to expand their impact, while helping more people gain access to quality education regardless of their location or circumstances.
