NigerBev Limited has appointed Chibueze Iwuoha as its Portfolio Marketing Manager, bringing an experienced consumer and brand strategist into a key role as the company seeks to strengthen its presence in Nigeria’s competitive spirits market.
Iwuoha will oversee the company’s portfolio strategy and marketing function, with responsibility for building stronger brands, improving consumer engagement and developing the marketing capabilities needed to support NigerBev’s growth.
His appointment brings experience from some of the biggest names in consumer research and fast-moving consumer goods. Iwuoha previously worked with NielsenIQ and Guinness, building a career across consumer research, business analytics and brand management.
Brandspur Brand News reports that his experience at Guinness included work connected to the launch of Guinness FES, Guinness Smooth, Smirnoff Ice Double Black and Orijin RTD. Those assignments gave him exposure to the process of taking products from the development and marketing stages to consumers.
At NigerBev, Iwuoha now faces a different challenge: helping the company make its brands more visible, relevant and competitive in a crowded spirits market. His role will go beyond promoting individual products, with a broader focus on how the company manages and grows its entire portfolio.
A major part of his responsibility will be strengthening brand equity. In practical terms, that means helping NigerBev build brands that consumers recognise, trust and remain interested in, while creating stronger connections between its products and the people who buy them.
Consumer engagement will also form part of his brief. His background in consumer research and analytics is expected to be relevant as NigerBev seeks to understand changing consumer preferences and translate those insights into stronger marketing decisions.
The appointment has already drawn congratulations from professionals across the marketing and business community. Several industry figures publicly welcomed Iwuoha into the new role and expressed their good wishes following the announcement.
For Iwuoha, the move marks another step in a career built around understanding consumers, using business insights and turning those insights into brand strategies. At NigerBev, that experience will now be applied to a portfolio of spirits brands competing for attention in one of Nigeria’s highly competitive consumer markets.
