Safaricom has officially launched its PATA MORE campaign across the Greater Western and Nyanza regions, bringing significant enhancements to data bundles, M-PESA services, and merchant transactions as the telecommunications giant deepens its support for small businesses and everyday consumers.
The regional rollout, held at Misori Beach in Usenge, Siaya County, drew customers, partners, and local stakeholders to witness the expansion of a campaign designed to deliver greater value across connectivity products and digital services. PATA MORE, which was initially unveiled at the national level, is built on the promise of more value, more convenience, and more freedom for users.
Under the new offering, customers will access 250MB for KES 20 valid for 24 hours, up from the previous 150MB allocation. The KES 99 bundle has also been enhanced to 1.5GB valid for 24 hours, rising from 1GB, while the KES 1,000 monthly data package now delivers 21.5GB, more than double the former 10GB allocation.
Brandspur Brand News understands that the campaign introduces transformative changes for M-PESA merchants through Pochi la Biashara. Under the Pochi Kadogo framework, customers can now complete Pochi transactions of up to KES 200 free of charge, a significant increase from the previous KES 100 limit. For the next 90 days, transaction fees for amounts exceeding KES 200 will be capped at KES 50, providing relief for small-value digital payments.
The campaign further strengthens support for micro-entrepreneurs by increasing the Lipa na M-PESA Buy Goods Kadogo threshold from KES 200 to KES 500. This adjustment enables merchants to retain more of their earnings as digital payment adoption continues to accelerate across the country. Customers will also experience faster and more convenient payments through Scan and Tap to Pay features.
For consumers looking to upgrade their devices, Safaricom has introduced bundled value packages that include data, voice services, and device insurance. The Neon Ultra 2 smartphone is now available from KES 55 per day with device insurance included, making it more accessible for customers seeking affordable technology with protection.
Drivers and riders subscribed to the Bundle Ya Dereva/Boda package will benefit from connectivity combined with work-enabling tools, including complimentary access to ride-hailing applications, Google Maps, and Tuunza Mapato insurance. The initiative aims to help transport sector workers maximise their earnings while staying connected.
The PATA MORE campaign represents Safaricom’s continued commitment to deepening digital inclusion and supporting the country’s small business ecosystem through enhanced payment solutions and more affordable connectivity.
