VFD Group Appoints Ijeoma Emezie-Ezigbo As Deputy Managing Director

VFD Group Plc has appointed Ijeoma Emezie-Ezigbo as its Deputy Managing Director and Executive Director, effective October 5, 2026.

The financial services group disclosed the appointment in a notice filed with the Nigerian Exchange Limited on October 2, with the decision subject to approval by shareholders at a General Meeting and the relevant regulatory authorities.

The Brandspur Banking News Desk reports that Emezie-Ezigbo joins the executive leadership with more than 20 years of experience in corporate finance, transaction advisory, mergers and acquisitions, business valuation and strategic financial management across Nigeria, Canada and other African markets.

Her most recent role was Partner and Head of Transaction Services, West Africa, at KPMG Nigeria, where she handled corporate advisory and transaction related assignments across the region.

Before joining KPMG, she held senior positions at Stanbic IBTC Group, IBM Canada and Canadian Tire Corporation, building experience across financial services, professional services and multinational business operations.

VFD Group said her background in transactions, valuation and financial strategy would support the company’s governance and strategic oversight as it continues to manage a portfolio of businesses across different segments of Nigeria’s financial services sector.

The board said it was satisfied that Emezie-Ezigbo had the competence, experience, integrity and leadership capacity required for the position.

Emezie-Ezigbo holds a First Class Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, with a specialisation in Marketing, from the University of Nigeria. She also earned a Master of Finance from Cass Business School in London and completed the Advanced Management Programme at Lagos Business School.

Her professional qualifications include Fellowship of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, Associate membership of ACCA UK, Chartered Professional Accountant status in Ontario, Canada, and certification as a Valuation Analyst with the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts.

At VFD Group, she will join Group Managing Director Nonso Okpala and Executive Directors Folajimi Adeleye and Morenike Ominike in the company’s executive leadership. The board is chaired by Olatunde Busari, SAN.

The appointment places an experienced transaction and corporate finance specialist within VFD Group’s senior management structure, while the finalisation of her role remains dependent on shareholder and regulatory approvals.
