SERAS Opens Entries for Africa’s First Sustainability Industry Rankings

The SERAS Africa Sustainability Awards will begin accepting entries on October 12 for a new continent-wide ranking designed to identify leading organisations, chief executives and sustainability professionals driving measurable change across Africa.

The initiative will feature three categories: Africa Top 100 Organisations in Sustainability, Africa Top 50 CEOs in Sustainability and Africa Top 50 Sustainability Professionals. The rankings form part of the 20th anniversary celebrations of The SERAS Africa Sustainability Awards.

According to Brandspur Brand News, the project aims to establish a benchmark for sustainability leadership by recognising organisations and individuals making contributions to environmental protection, social development, ethical governance and responsible business practices.

Entries are open to participants across African countries, including small and medium-sized enterprises, major corporations, multinational companies, government institutions, development organisations, non-governmental organisations and social enterprises. Chief executives, managing directors and professionals working in sustainability, environmental, social and governance (ESG), corporate social responsibility (CSR) and social impact are also eligible.

Applicants can enter through self-nomination, nomination by their organisation or recommendations from industry peers and other stakeholders. This allows individuals and institutions to put forward their own achievements or draw attention to the work of others.

The initiative is being delivered in collaboration with several institutional and media partners, including the African Union, African Development Bank, United Nations Environment Programme, United Nations Development Programme, United Nations Global Compact, Forbes Africa, African Sustainability Network and BusinessDay Media Group.

Ken Egbas, founder of The SERAS Africa Sustainability Awards, said the rankings would provide a platform for identifying organisations and leaders whose work demonstrates measurable impact. He also highlighted the role of sustainability in business performance, investor confidence, stakeholder trust and organisational resilience.

The organisers say the rankings are expected to serve as a reference point for investors, policymakers, development institutions, consumers and other stakeholders seeking to assess sustainability leadership across the continent.

Entries will close on November 20, 2026, with the final rankings scheduled for release on December 4, 2026.

Interested organisations and individuals can submit nominations through the official SERAS website.
