OPay Revenue Jumps 136% To $467m As Half-Year Profit Surges Past $90m

OPay Limited recorded a sharp rise in revenue and profitability in the first half of 2026, with revenue climbing to $467.06 million and profit after tax reaching $90.87 million, reflecting a substantial improvement on its performance in the same period last year.

The company’s revenue increased by 136.5 per cent from $197.48 million in the first half of 2025. Profit after tax rose even faster, more than quadrupling from $21.71 million recorded a year earlier.

The figures, reported by Brandspur Banking News Desk, highlight the scale of OPay’s financial growth over the 12-month period, with the company recording gains in both its top line and bottom line.

Revenue increased by $269.58 million compared with the corresponding period in 2025, while profit after tax grew by $69.16 million. The results indicate that the company generated substantially more income and retained a higher amount in profit after tax during the first six months of 2026.

The stronger profit performance is particularly notable because earnings expanded at a faster rate than revenue. While revenue rose by 136.5 per cent, profit after tax increased by approximately 318.5 per cent, based on the reported figures.

For a financial technology company, such growth can be significant in assessing its financial performance. However, the figures provided do not explain the factors behind the increase, including the contribution of transaction volumes, customer growth, pricing, operating costs or other income sources.

The results also do not provide details of OPay’s performance across individual business segments or indicate how the company intends to deploy its increased earnings.

Nevertheless, the first-half figures show a marked improvement in OPay’s financial position compared with the same period in 2025, as both revenue and profit recorded substantial year-on-year growth.
