FMN Women Network Holds Nationwide Breast Cancer Awareness Walk

The Flour Mills of Nigeria Women Network (FMNWN) has organised a nationwide breast cancer awareness walk to encourage early detection, regular breast checks and timely medical attention as part of activities marking Pink October.

The walk took place on Monday, October 12, 2026, across the company’s sites, bringing together female employees, known within the organisation as the Amazing Amazons, who wore pink to show solidarity with people affected by breast cancer.

The Brandspur Brand News Desk reports that the initiative focused on making breast health a shared responsibility, encouraging women to pay attention to changes in their bodies and seek medical advice when they notice anything unusual.

Participants gathered at designated locations across the country before setting out on the walk. The activity also provided an opportunity for employees to discuss breast self-examination, screening and the importance of detecting the disease early.

Beyond raising public awareness, the campaign highlighted the need to support people living with breast cancer throughout diagnosis, treatment and recovery. The network also stressed the importance of showing compassion towards patients and survivors, recognising that the effects of the disease extend beyond the individual to families and communities.

Established in 2019, FMNWN was created to advance women’s development, inclusion and wellbeing within Flour Mills of Nigeria. Its activities have included initiatives aimed at supporting women’s personal and professional growth across the organisation.

The nationwide participation in this year’s walk reinforced the network’s commitment to health education and workplace wellbeing. Through the campaign, FMNWN sought to encourage women to take breast health seriously and help foster an environment where those affected by the disease receive understanding and support
