Average Prices of Petrol, Diesel, Kerosene and Cooking Gas Price Watch – April 2017

Average price paid by consumers for premium motor spirit (petrol) decreased by 7.9% year-on-year and increased by 0.3% month-on-month to N149.9 in April 2017 from N149.4 in March 2017.

States with the highest average price of premium motor spirit (petrol) were Borno & Kebbi (N160.5), Bayelsa (N159.1) & Taraba (158.6).

States with the lowest average price of premium motor spirit (petrol) were Oyo (N145.3), Ondo (N145.2) and Abuja, Ekiti, Kaduna, Ogun & Osun (N145).

Average price paid by consumers for automotive gas oil (diesel) decreased by 2.26% month-on-month and increased by 50.67% year-on-year to N229.25 in April 2017 from N234.55 in March 2017.

States with the highest average price of diesel were Adamawa (N252.50), Ondo (N251.25) & Sokoto (250).

States with the lowest average price of diesel were Rivers & Yobe (N210.00), Bayelsa (N208.57) and Gombe (N200.00).

Average price per litre paid by consumers for National Household Kerosene decreased by 9.87% month-on-month and increased by 25.77% year-on-year to N280.80 in April 2017 from N311.56 in March 2017.

States with the highest average price per litre of kerosene were Anambra (N296.21.22), Imo (N294.61) & Lagos (292.59).

States with the lowest average price per litre of kerosene were Oyo (N265.48), Adamawa (N264.58) and Kaduna (N263.00).

Similarly, average price per gallon paid by consumers for National Household Kerosene decreased by 1.68% month-on-month and increased by 71.09% year-on-year to N1,153.12 in April 2017 from N1,172.78 in March 2017

States with the highest average price per gallon of kerosene were Yobe (N1,265.00), Benue (N1,229.17) & Nasarawa (1,227.82).

States with the lowest average price per litre of kerosene were Kwara (N1,040.00), Abia (N1,028.57) and Abuja (N1,000.00).

Average price for the refilling of a 5kg cylinder for Liquefied Petroleum Gas (Cooking Gas) decreased by 2.61% month-on-month and increased by 30.35% year-on-year to N2,428.38 in April 2017 from N2,493.59 in March 2017

States with the highest average price for the refilling of a 5kg cylinder for Liquefied Petroleum Gas (Cooking Gas) were Adamawa, Bayelsa, Gombe, Imo, Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Nasarawa, Niger, Taraba, Yobe and Zamfara (N2,500.00), Enugu (N2,480) & Ekiti (2,477.78).

States with the lowest average price for the refilling of a 5kg cylinder for Liquefied Petroleum Gas (Cooking Gas) were Benue (N2,350), Kwara & Sokoto (N2,300.00) and Borno (N2,228.57).

Similarly, average price for the refilling of a 12.5kg cylinder for Liquefied Petroleum Gas (Cooking Gas) decreased by 1.89% month-on-month and increased by 28.93% year-on-year to N4,830.22 in April 2017 from N4,923.47 in March 2017.

States with the highest average price for the refilling of a 12.5kg cylinder for Liquefied Petroleum Gas (Cooking Gas) were Borno (N5,171.43), Cross River (N5,120.) & Benue (5,100.00).

States with the lowest average price for the refilling of a 12.5kg cylinder for Liquefied Petroleum Gas (Cooking Gas) were Oyo (N4,581.25), Kwara (N4,550) and Ebonyi % Adamawa, Bauchi, Kano, Yobe & Zamfara (N4,500).
