BBC GLOBAL QUESTIONS: WILL HOST IGBO, YORUBA AND PIDGIN DEBATES IN LAGOS, THIS JULY

Global Questions, the BBC’s current affairs programme travels to Lagos to raise important questions around how African youth are mobilizing to raise political awareness. On July 5, the BBC World Service will be hosting three debates at Afe Babalola Hall of the University of Lagos in Igbo, Yoruba, and Pidgin. Each session will feature thought leaders, professionals, clerics and public office holders, who will answer questions on codeine abuse, bride-price custom, and domestic violence.

The English-speaking panel will include Aminu Tambuwal, Governor of Sokoto State; Samson Itodo, Executive Director Youth Initiative for Advocacy Growth & Advancement; Ayisa Osori, Lawyer, and Author; Obiageli Ezekwesili, Africa Economic Development Policy Initiative, and Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, one of Nigeria’s most recognized TV personalities.
