The Equity Market resumed the week on a positive note, gaining 0.51% to continue last Friday’s positive sentiment. Market breadth closed positive, recording 27 gainers and 5 losers.

In summary, the All Share Index (ASI) was up by 163.96 absolute points, representing an increase of 0.51%, closing at 32,222.24 points. Similarly, Market Capitalization increased by N59.86 billion representing a spike of .51%, closing at N11.76 trillion.

GLAXOSMITH emerged the top gainer while MUTUAL BENEFIT emerged the top loser.

The upturn was impacted by gainers recorded in medium and large capitalized stocks, amongst which are; FLOURMILL (+4.65%), UCAP (+3.86%), FBNH (+2.01%), OANDO (+2.00%), DANGSUGAR (+1.17%), ACCESS (+0.65%)  ZENITHBANK (+0.425) and GUARANTY (+0.14%).

The Naira at the inter-bank rate closed at N306.75 representing a 0.02% depreciation against Friday’s closing price.

The Investors and Exporters (I&E) FX window opened at N363.60, traded high at N365.00 and eventually closed at N363.69, representing a 0.09% appreciation against Friday’s closing price. A total of $108.17 million was transacted through the I&E window today.

MONEY MARKET

Overnight (O/N) rate closed at 10.83%, representing a 3.67% appreciation against Friday’s closing position, while Open Buy-Back (OBB) rate also closed at10.17% representing a 3.83% appreciation against Friday’s closing position.
