Despite his challenges, Lukman managed to start a catering service by the roadside after attending a catering academy to cater for his family. While some will take to begging as an option for case challenges, he decided to overcome his situation through the skills he has and fate has rewarded his with a better-equipped facility through Airtel.

The restaurant, which was handed over on Wednesday, November 21, 2018, was part of the telco’s prize presentation to beneficiaries through its CSR initiative, Airtel Touching Live season 4.

Part of the items donated includes industrial gas, 4-burner gas cooker with oven, cylinders, cooking utensils, cooking pots, 3.5KVA Generator, deep freezer, industrial fans, tables and chairs amongst other items.

The telco giant also presented a cheque of N450,000 to Lukman Oreniwa for his medical support and consultancy fee.

Speaking during the handing over, Bola Oreniwa, wife of Lukman, commended the telco for creating a better life for her family. She thanked the company for their commitment to reaching the less privilege and ensuring that all the promises made are fulfilled.

“I am very grateful to Airtel for this amazing opportunity because life has been very difficult for us. We thank Airtel for coming to our aid; the impact of this support is unquantifiable to our life right now. I want to say thank you to Airtel for fulfilling their promise, for staying with us all these while.”

“On behalf of myself and my husband, we also want to say thank you to Airtel for listening to us. My husband is extremely happy, because this is a new beginning for us and with these from Airtel, we will keep thriving until we also spread the attitude of giving to others”, she said.

According to Airtel, the donations were in line with its commitment of providing a practical solution to the less privileged, uplifting and empowering the downtrodden as well as spreading the culture of giving.

The newly opened restaurant is located at 19, Akinrinlo Street, Bajulaiye opposite Alarape Market, Shomolu, Lagos State.
