#Balanceforbetter: Flour Mills of Nigeria Celebrate Women On International Women’s Day (Pictures)

As part of activities to commemorate this year’s International Women’s Day, with the theme, Balance for better, FMN recently unveiled its Women’s Network, aptly named, “The Amazons.”

The unveiling was performed by John Coumantaros, Chairman, FMN, in the company of the GMD, Paul Gbededo, and the Head of HR, Kemi Aro at an event held in Apapa recently.

It was disclosed that the Women’s Network which was designed to identify and groom the next generation of women leaders in FMN will be spearheaded by, Mrs Salamatu Hussaini, a member of the FMN board.

Speaking at the event, John Coumantaros said: “The mentorship program will arm our women with the necessary tools and inspiration to rise to better opportunities, break the glass ceilings and take on the world.”

Other highlights of the events included a panel discussion session, where the women shared experiences on career progressions, work-life balance and how to succeed in a male-dominated corporate world. Some the panelist included, Hansatu Adegbite, Executive Director of Women in Management, Business and Public Service (WIMBIZ) in Lagos, Yewande Sadiku,Executive secretary/CEO, Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission, Mrs. Marie Owoniyi, Experienced banker, and HR professional and Arinola Lydia Aruleba, Head of Sugar Value Chain, in Golden Sugar Limited, a subsidiary of the FMN.
